Sam tried to think of something else. He really did, but there’s no avoiding it.

He’s going to have to kill his brother.

It’s the only option, because if he doesn’t kill the bastard; the noises coming from upstairs will kill HIM.

Sam curls up on his side on the couch, pulling his laptop to his chest. It’s a comforting warm hum of electronics, but he still ends up grabbing a cushion. The force he uses to press it against his face is just shy of smothering.

It doesn’t help.

The waters screaming in the pipes, and god. He wished he could say that was the only thing screaming. 

Theres a steady drip drip drip that keeps time to the odd bumps and thuds from the second floor. The leak had appeared half an hour ago, right there in the middle of the loungeroom ceiling. 

Because of course the bathroom had to be directly over his head.

And of course his bedroom was just across the hall. There was nowhere to escape too. 

Sam whimpered, closing his eyes so tightly tiny lights started dancing about in the dark. 

A sharp crash shook the house and Sam felt nauseous. 

“-Deaaannnnn”

Oh god no. 

Sam dumped his laptop on the couch and ran from the room, only pausing long enough to grab his wallet and the impala’s keys.
